Curate Maryland — Gateway Arts District
Saturday, November 16, 2013

11am — 3pm

Prince George’s County, Maryland

Emerging Arts Advocates, an initiative of Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA), bring you the second installment of …

Curate Maryland

a new series of “on the ground” experiences designed to highlight and promote the arts in cities and towns from across the state of Maryland.

Each Curate Maryland event will spotlight a selection of one town’s local arts organizations while also fostering dialogue about issues that concern arts advocates at all levels of governance. In essence, Curate Maryland is a site specific celebration, one city or town at a time, by arts lovers from around the state (think pub crawl for arts advocacy).

On Saturday, November 16th,
come spend some time in the

Gateway Arts District

and connect to the corridor’s rich cultural offerings and people. The following organizations potentially will participate:

Joe’s Movement Emporium

Red Dirt Studios

Flux Studios

Washington Glass Studio

Art Works Studio School

Gateway Art Center with visits to
Prince George’s African American Museum
Brentwood Art Exchange

39th Street Gallery and Studios

and then

ezStorage Studios

There will also be a boxed lunch with networking and dialogue.

Why You Should “Curate

Bring a friend and come enjoy the company of other Marylanders as we “day trip” to explore the Gateway Arts District in Prince George’s Co., together. Follow your sense of adventure and curiosity about the art and people in another part of the state!  Curate MD allows for regional exchange, celebration of the arts and dialogue. We can learn from what other artists, arts enthusiasts and arts professionals are doing. We can take best practices, new contacts and inspirations back home!

How to register!
