Ongoing education is integral to creating private and public art. Research and collaboration, along with engaging in community outreach and support are the basis of our multi-faceted approach. This also provides mechanisms and opportunities to enrich and advance the creation, understanding and enjoyment of the arts. As a result, the total is much greater than the sum of the parts.

The Washington Glass School offers classes in glass and other media for beginners and seasoned artists. There is “Open Studio” for independent work providing tools and kilns along with access to expert instructors. Artists enrolled as part of the Artists Incubator rent space, tools and kiln time that they can use at any time. The Washington Glass School is associated with other educational centers, such as the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, and Arlington Arts Center in Virginia to provide classes in glass and other media for its students and artists.
